We Can Handle The Heat: Zwick Install On a SCR

The Client: A Natural Gas-Fired Power Plant in the North East

This installation is on a SCR, which stands for “Selective Catalytic Reduction” at a northeastern Natural Gas fired electric producing power plant to reduce NOx emmissions.

The Challenge:

Normal operating temperatures can reach 900° F and the valve is expected to be zero seat leakage when fully closed.  The Zwick valve achieves this zero leakage requirement plus has a unique stem packing design such that smooth opening & closing of the valve is assured.

This was a replacement from another triple offset valve manufacturer that was reversed engineered with poor quality and or performance.

Note the extra high adaption box bracket, this was to help dissipate radiant heat coming from the pipeline to avoid damage to seals in the pneumatic actuator.
