CheckMate Valves for Casino & Resort
The Challenge:
The Rivers Casino & Resort in Schenectady, NY needed a solution to protect their property and restrict rising waters from the nearby Mohawk River and from stormwater runoff and overflow. Located in Mohawk Harbor, their building and property are easily susceptible to flooding, which could result in costly damages and safety concerns.
The customer needed a knowledgeable valve supplier who would partner with them and source the correct valve type for the project.
The Solution:
R.M. Headlee partnered with three key project leaders working for the customer including a project manager, a project engineer, and a consultant to ensure the valve sourcing and installation was done correctly, met project deadlines, and operated within the project requirements.
R.M. Headlee sourced a CheckMate valve, for the customer to meet their specific requirements and application uses. A CheckMate valve was ideal for this customer’s needs because they are used to stop reverse water flow and water hammer.

Since the CheckMate valve installation in the Fall of 2016, there have been no customer complaints or issues and the valve set up consistently functions at top capability. An added benefit, stated by the City of Schenectady, is that the CheckMatel valve integration also helps with odor control in the surrounding area, creating a more pleasing environment for all.
